For most newly-weds, Christmas is yet another joyous occasion in an already blissful year. There’s so much to look forward to –spending time with family and friends; looking through photo albums that attest to the fantastic highs of the previous months and making plans for the New Year.

But imagine how you’d feel if all that excitement was interrupted by a cancer diagnosis. Your THIRD in less than eight years. That’s how 2018 ended for our much-loved daughter and sister Regina.

Regina was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 2011. Once treatment was finished, we were hopeful that she could move on from this challenging time in her life. Sadly this was not to be!

In 2014 her cancer was back in the form of a brain tumour. Once again she made it through treatment and bounced back to her former glory! Two year later, in 2016, she and all the family were dealt a severe blow with the death of her beloved mother Julia. Regina had relied so much on the unwavering support of her mum as she too had fought her own breast cancer battle.

When 2017 dawned and Regina was busy planning her wedding to Jason, it seemed like her life had finally taken a turn for the better. Their wedding in March 2018 was a wonderful occasion. Regina’s latest diagnosis coming so soon after it seems so unfathomably cruel.

Unfortunately Regina’s cancer is rare and difficult to treat. Her only chance of a successful outcome was to seek treatment abroad, which is what brought her to Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Centre in New York. The world leaders in her cancer are based there and are currently engaged in research and developing new treatments.

Regina’s indomitable spirit and amazing zest for life mean she’s up for the fight again and we are asking you to join her army. The costs entailed in this fight are exorbitant and we, her family, would be most grateful for any contribution you can make to help us get our precious Regina well again.

Fantastic news - Regina's treatment has started today. This day could not come soon enough for Regina and she is so happy that we can share this news with you, she is also very thankful for the messages of love and support, they have helped keep her spirits high and hopeful as she waited for this day. All of this could not have happened at all without your support, thank you so much, each and everyone of you❤️

Whilst we have raised enough to start treatment we still have to continue to fundraise as €370k covers the initial treatment only, nothing else and there will be huge ongoing costs. There cannot be any interruption to treatment so we need to ensure that when these additional costs arise, the funds as there.

Please continue to support this campaign, we still really need your support. Thank you so much to everyone who has donated so far. Please continue to share our posts on FB and Twitter, this helps share awareness of our campaign.x

First of all thank you so much for all donations to date, Regina and her family are so grateful. However time is not on our side and her treatment should have started by now, the only thing holding it up is money,

Regina is the first to help someone in need and has raised money for various charities over the years. Please help her now in her hour of need. It is imperative that we raise enough money in the next 24 hours for treatment to start, every day her condition is only getting worse. Please support #tennertoday

PLEASE PAY €10 TO GOFUNDME TODAY AND PERSUADE 3 FRIENDS TO DO THE SAME IN THE NEXT 24 HOURS- SO REGINA’S TREATMENT CAN START

We are so so grateful for all the support we have received, it is truly amazing that in 10 days we have received €165k+ in gofundme donations, something that could not have been achieved without you and we will be forever eternally grateful to each and every one of you.
But despite this brilliant new we are still so far away from the initial target of €370k, which is needed before treatment can begin. You probably saw Regina’s post earlier thanking you but also that she does not have time to play with. The situation is that Regina’s treatment should have started by now and the only reason it did not was we did not have the money to pay the hospital. Her situation will only deteriorate the longer the delay. This breaks out hearts.
We really need to be able to advise the hospital that we have €370k by Friday. Even taking into account the money paid directly into the bank account we are still €135k short. We are reaching to you all in the hope that we can have one huge push to get as much as we can on the gofundme page in the next 24 hours.
Can we raise 100k in 24 hours? We can if we work together. We need 10,000 people to pay €10 to gofundme . We know you have been so generous already but €10 is the price of a few coffee to most people but for Regina’s it’s enough to stop her cancer progressing further. Can you give up a few coffees or a couple of pints to help extend somebody’s life. We are begging you to do this.
We are asking everyone of you to pay €10 and persuade 3 friends to do the same thing in the next 24hours. We NEED you to do this.
We need you more than ever.
We need a #tennertoday

When we initially set up the fundraising campaign we did not know the exact cost of treatment. Our expectation was that it was going to be in the region of €250,000 with an element of this paid up-front. However Regina received the devastating news that her treatment will cost €370,000. This is why we have increased the goal.
