Reflections: Mirrors to the Queer Experience

Hello, we are the Reflections team, Susanna, Doro, and Moth. Reflections: Mirrors to the Queer Experience is a poetry and visual art collaborative project brought to you by KMUD and Swimming With Elephants Publications focusing on expressions of the LGBTQIA+ community in Humboldt, Trinity, and Mendocino Counties. Curated poems have been selected from submissions throughout the area and visual artists have created pieces to mirror and reflect poems.

The art and poetry was presented at KMUD and Southern Humboldt Pride’s GayMUD event in Redway, CA on June 17, 2023, the poetry continues to feature on KMUD, and we now have the opportunity to show the project at Summer Arts And Music Festival in Redway, CA June 24-25, 2023, as well as some other opportunities later in the summer. A chapbook of the collected work is being put together now by Swimming With Elephants Publications, set to be printed in July.

We are looking for help with the cost of the shows and the cost of printing chapbooks. The more preorders we receive, the sooner the collection can be printed.

You will receive a copy of the chapbook signed by the artists and poets and audio files of the poems read by the poets.
