Reeses the Dog who was shot by Deputy

Donation protected
I encourage you to follow Reeses journey on Facebook,  Reeses Road to Recovery.  I will post an update on Reeses later this evening.

As you all know, I, Meagan started this GoFundMe to bring Reeses home to her family. I am a neighbor of Doug's,  Reeses owner.
During the midst of all chaos,  I opened a nonprofit in Reeses name, it's called Reeses Recovery. I then opened a bank account is the nonprofit's name. I will be paying all medical bills Reeses has accumulated with the GoFundMe donations from the nonprofit's account.  I will also buy food and supplies for her care.  Future vetting expenses will be paid to the vet.
With any remaining funds I will be donating to rescue's who have been a great deal of support.  I continuously get screenshots of rescues and their team writing negative things about myself or Doug. This is a journey to heal a dog, not bash me or Doug. Keep it to your inbox,  especially as a rescue.
With any remaining funds; I will be making donations to Arkansas Chihuahua Rescue, C.A.R.E, and Arkansas Assisting Homeless Animal's.

Thanks for all your love and support.

Here is an upon Reeses.

Please follow us on Facebook,  Reese Road to Recovery,  spelt just like that

Any remaining money will go to Reese's future vet expenses(unknown), food and new bedding, and anything the vet can think of she will need to help her heal. We will provide a full summarized bill from the vet as we get it. After that, any remaining donations will go to dog rescues in this area to help another dog like Reese's. Receipts will be provided. Reese's is at an emergency vet clinic in central Arkansas, they have requested us not to release their name at this time due to the overwhelming amount of support, the staff would like to focus on caring for the animals in their charge; when the time is right, we will give them their proper credit for all the amazing care they are providing. All new media who have featured Reese's have confirmed her location and care to report their story.**

**I'm continuously blown away by all of you who don't know Reese's who are showing up a caring for this sweet dog.  Please know all the neighborhood kid's who love her have shed many tears; thank you from the bottom of their hearts for helping her. Doug, myself, and our children love her as well. Love wins, and your love and support is a testament to the human spirit and what we can do if we all come together. The circumstances surrounding event are tragic and unfortunate, we hope that first and foremost, Reese's heals and gets a chance at a full life, but we hope her story will raise awareness and give a voice and shine a light to mistreated animals everywhere. **

**I do not know how to respond to comment's,  but I have read every one of them. I have also been receiving notifications via email that I have messages as well; I have read the messages and see your words of love and support although I don't know how to respond just yet. I see you. I feel your kindness and support. Your words are motivation for us to continue to support Reese's healing and to advocate for her fiercely.**

NO Rescue facility has Reese's, she is at the vet and they are giving her the very best care. After she no longer needs intensive care and is stable enough to go home, she will return to Shiloh Creek Estates and live with Doug and his daughter, as she has been prior to this incident. She lives there with her pup in crime, her boyfriend Oreo. Both were abandoned by her previous owners. Both dogs have lived in the neighborhood for two years and sadly their owners were very disengaged in their care and left them outside, Doug and his daughter began continuously feeding them two years ago and we all began taking them and playing with them and providing for them, so they are the neighborhood pets.  My partner and I also considered them a part of the family even having toys and treats here at our house, they walk my son to the bus stop and greet him everyday when he gets home. The "owners"moved  in December and never came back for them. Doug has had them with him ever since. Both dogs are a fixture in our neighborhood and loved by all of us. Doug and his daughter named them as the previous owners never did.

Facts: the sheriff's office was called to Shiloh Creek Estates on 1/4 from a lady claiming dog's in their own yard were bothering her, the lady from the neighborhood pulled a pistol at Doug and the dog's  and threatened to shoot them. Doug informed her he was outside and not to do it. CHILDREN PLAY IN THIS NEIGHBORHOOD AND WERE PLAYING AND RIDING BIKES AT THE TIME THIS NEIGHBOR PULLED THE GUN. Keenan Wallace was one of the responding officers, he was irritated Doug would not come to the road and the dog's were barking beside Doug, his retaliation for not coming was shooting Reese's.  He didn't kill Reese's, wounding her instead, as she was yelping from pain, Doug asked Wallace to put her out of her misery because she was suffering. He proceeded towards Doug with his taser and weapon still in hand. There are videos of this altercation on Facebook, it is heartbreaking and graphic, and the woman with the weapon drawn around children playing was allowed to go about her way with weapon in hand. Reese's ran off,  we initially thought she was dead as she had suffered a bullet to the head. She was hiding in a shed nearby.

Doug was continuously harassed by the sheriff's office as he was trying to prepare for his shift with AirEvac, worried about Reese's and Oreo but knowing he could not miss his shift, as peoples lives depend on him, Doug contacted his Dad to come and look for Reese's. His father then contacted a rescue group who were able to locate him in a nearby shed hiding behind a mattress ALIVE! They took the dog to the emergency vet after she was found. I offered to take Reese's but she was in a rescuers hands at the time. Doug called and paid $2,400 towards Reese's care so the vet would begin to work on her. I started this go fund me, initially reaching out to my friends and family for help with Reese's and here we are; she is getting the care she needs and our little community is getting love and support from all over. There was in initial misunderstanding about Doug being the owner of the dogs; Doug initially said they were not his, because the owners had just moved and he was not sure if they were coming back, but it was unlikely. They technically were not his,  as I explained above, the entire neighborhood had been taking care of these two dogs for a while. Their "owners" abandoned them long before they moved. Doug and his daughter have been feeding the dog's when the other owners failed to do so. The deputies had been called about the neglect situation and their nuisance as neighbors, including property destruction. Doug and his daughter have selflessly been caring for these two animals when their owners would not. We set this up because we needed help beyond our means to help care for this innocent animal in this terrible situation. We thank everyone of you who have read her story and those who have also chosen to donate. We will be transparent and provide updates regularly so check the updates section. Any proceeds beyond her care will go to help vulnerable animals. Thank you for your support on behalf of Doug and his daughter, Reese's, Oreo, and my family and our neighborhood family who love and care about these animals. Please contact me if you have any questions, I am working on figuring out how to respond. There is also content on Facebook to follow her healing journey, the page name is "Reeses Road to Recovery."
