Red Hook Dems Scholarship
Donation protected
Every year, The Red Hook Democratic Committee helps a local high school senior pursue their dream of higher education with a $500 scholarship award. Please help fund that award with your gift of $250, $100, $50 or $25! Our goal of $1000 will help build a reserve for future years. We offer this award as a demonstration of our commitment to supporting our local community.
Candidates must demonstrate a commitment to our community though at least a written essay or ideally, a creative project. “One of the best entries from previous years was a multi-media project where the senior had interviewed friends and family about our community,” said chair John Schmitz.
“This is an opportunity to have fun and, instead of just more selfies, use your phone (camera) for something really creative and make a real comment about the community you live in.” Candidates must be a graduating Red Hook High School senior, and have study plans in the coming academic year—this can include college, university, technical or vocational training or other post-secondary education program or non-paid internship.
Details on how to apply will be posted on http://www.redhookdems.com in early January.
