Reclaiming a Life

Donation protected
Friends,

A dear friend of Lit. on Fire Used Books (and myself personally), Destinee Wilson, has recently suffered a devastating loss. Even if you don’t know her, I want you to know that she has been a beacon of light here in our cozy literary community. She has given so much of herself, and I want to do everything in my power to give back to her in any way I can.

In the process of moving from one home to another, the heater broke and thus pipes burst and flooded the house Destinee is moving out of, ruining the majority of her belongings. So many things with sentimental value can never be replaced, BUT, with your help, we can ease the loss of her entire household. She does not have the means to replace a lot of basics right now, so I am reaching out to you to help ease that need and to provide her some comfort during this difficult time.

Beginning right now, I am collecting donations to help Destinee replace much of what was lost.

1) Top priority is a list of household items that need replaced that can be donated from one’s own home.

2) Second priority is to collect gift cards and cash donations, in hopes to replace an entire wardrobe of clothing that was destroyed.

3) Final priority is to collect gift cards and cash donations that will help pay for any cleaning supplies/ home goods that did not get covered through item donations.

All physical donations can be delivered in person to Lit. on Fire Used Books (except for large furniture items, we can schedule pickup/ delivery through private messaging). If you would like to donate gift cards, those can be delivered in person, cash donations will be accepted in store, and of course, you can donate right here, from the comfort of your own home.

Thank you, THANK YOU for helping however you can. It will truly make a lasting impact during this time of need. Service is at the heart of what makes us human, and I know a lot of you great people will go above and beyond for those in need. <3
