Avast ye scurvy swabs! Myself and my fellow sea faring adventurer Toni Armstrong are on our way across the seven seas hoping to crack some smiles out of the Refugees currently accumulating on the Greek island of Samos.
As you may well know, fortress Europe has begun to close its doors, presumably fearing some kind of zombie apocalypse. We, however, want those flood gates opened. These people are fleeing war. What would you want to happen if you were in their position? I imagine you’d not appreciate a face full of razor wire or drowning! Neither of these things are on my to do list that’s why I have bolt cutters and am good at swimming!
We learned of an opportunity to travel to this Greek island to help out through a friend, and fellow pyrate, Hannah. She has already paid for my flight and given me a huge case of socks to take on the easy jet. It weighs a lot, unlike myself, I'm as light as a feather! :-) ....see video.
Hannah donates to good causes through her business. What a gal! As most of my friends know anti-capitalism has made me useless with money so she’s like some kind of lucky charm...maybe its a swap for that four leaf clover I gave her. Anyway, another story for another time!
Hannah’s contact on the island is an Andy Link, also a pyrate by the looks of things. He nabbed some very famous artworks and a film has been made about it. 'The Banksy Job.' He has found some truly epic street Artists to go out to the island and for our part we will be clowning, painting and filming. Yes, you heard me. We are going to make a film!
We need money yesterday so basically this is a stick up!
I've used Go Fund Me before so you'll pretty much know that as soon as you give the money it will be available for us to use. We need to hire a car, pay for flights, buy bubbles....we are going to be blowing a lot of bubbles and paint and glitter! Lots of glitter!! We need paint for our mural which will be part performance art part painting! It's going to rule!
Please give us what you can...the more we have the bigger and more epic it will be. We have perks....scarfs and tea towels and aprons and sinks...loads of stuff but we'll sort that out when we get back by running another crowd fund. If you want to buy something instead of just donating include your email and we'll get back in touch with you. We are going to record as much as we can and make a film when we get back too. Obviously that’s more time and money but everybody keep a weather eye on the horizon! That’s the aim, don't forget about these people! We are going to do what we can to get as many people as possible to look in their direction!
