Rebuilding After Thanksgiving Fire
Donation protected
Late in the evening on 23 November, Thanksgiving night, my amazing sister and her family lost their home, their beloved pets and all of their possessions to a devastating fire.
More than 80 firefighters battled a blaze that left them with nothing except their lives, for which we are eternally grateful. Although they tried to save their animals, the smoke was too thick and the fire was too hot to reach them. Because they were unable to enter the burning building, they weren’t able to save a single thing.
Items ranging from all of my sister’s recently- passed mother’s belongings, the children’s childhood memories, to their clothes, shoes and even toothbrushes were lost as they watched their home become engulfed by the flames.
My sister, Steve, Dylan and Tori are overwhelmed by your love and support. Your donation, no matter how big or how small, is incredibly appreciated as this family begins to rebuild and cope with this loss. Thank you.
