Atradius Helps Lombok Children

Multiple earthquakes have hit Lombok since July 29, 2018 at 6.4 Richter, followed by a bigger earthquake a week later at 7 Richter, followed by aftershocks of 6.2 Richter (9/8/18) and the last earthquake of 7 Richter (19/8/18).  In total, there are at least 1974 earthquakes on the island in the past one month and over 500 casualties and 352.793 people displaced. 

Peduli Anak Foundation is an NGO serving underprivileged Indonesian children by providing family-based care, education, health care, and advocacy. There are about 80 children, from 18 months to 18 years, who now live in Peduli Anak. They are children from broken home family, former street children, orphans, and children who are victims of abuse, exploitation and neglect.


The earthquakes have destroyed all 4 children homes in Peduli Anak and damaged other buildings such as their school and kitchen. 

International media such as the BBC (https://youtu.be/jUHM2L11RgY), CNN, Dutch News (https://youtu.be/YSXTiWZNkpU) and a Dutch talk show (https://youtu.be/XgF4_RI8o7I) immediately picked up their story, which was key in getting basic help to Peduli Anak fairly quickly. 
 
Nevertheless, all 80 children and their caregivers are now living in tents. School activities also take place in a tent or outdoor. 


Peduli Anak is planning to build 10 children houses for 100 children. One house costs approximately Euro 22,000 (USD 25,000). It is very urgent that we could raise the funds as soon as possible so our children have roof above their heads again.
