Tragic Fire at Andrew DeVries River Studio
On November 23, 2016 at 11:50am there was a propane explosion and a fire @ Sculptor Andrew DeVries' casting studio. His casting studio was fully engulfed in flames and burned to the ground. The building and its contents were a total loss.
He was preparing to pour his popular bronze sculptures for our Gallery in Lenox, MA. He sustained some burns on his forehead. The building was uninsured as his insurance company stated it was too far from the road, there are no fire hydrants in the vicinity and the nearest fire station is 25 minutes from the site. There were 4 fire departments on hand battling the blaze which was contained 4 hours later.
Andrew will be unable to cast his beautiful bronze sculptures until a new building is built. With kind donations like yours we hope to have a new casting studio built with in a year’s time so that Andrew can continue his career as a talented sculptor!!!
