Reagan Tokes Remembrance
We lost an amazing young lady this week. Reagan Delaney Tokes was taken from us in a selfish act. On February 9th, 2017 she was fatally shot and abandoned in a park. This feeling we have can't be put to words. Of all the people in this world we find ourselves asking why her?
If you knew Reagan you would know her as one of the sweetest, big hearted individuals you have ever come a crossed. Her smile and personality would light up any room she was in. Reagan was born and raised in Maumee, Ohio. Graduating from Anthony Wayne High School with phenomenal grades and was an active member on both the General's tennis and lacrosse teams. She attended The Ohio State University and was excepted to graduate this spring, with a degree in Psychology. Her life was cut short and will no longer be able to do so. She will no longer be able to go to the places she dreamed, accomplish her goals, and have the long life she deserved to have. She leaves behind her younger sister Makenzie Tokes and her two parents Lisa and Toby Tokes (depicted in the image below)
This fund is so we no long have to ask why her and make something good, pure and loving; just like Reagan. Our goal is to raise $50,000 to create a scholarship in her honor. This will give other hard working high school students a chance to attend the college of their dreams just like Reagan did. We will also be creating a commemorative plaque that will be placed at the Anthony Wayne Tennis Courts for all the energy and love she put into her teammates and the game. We would like to have this fund accomplished by her funeral on February 16th, 2017.
Reagan would want us to remember her for all the laughter, joy, and love she brought to each and everyone of us. Heaven truly did again another angel today.
I never had the privledge of knowing Reagan, but she seems like seems like the type of kind, joyous, and loving girl that could become friends with absolutely anyone...I think that's one of the many reasons this story feels so personal: because just scrolling through her pictures, she reminds me so much of the many loved ones in my life. If this story can bring a complete stranger to tears, I can't even imagine how Reagan's family and friends are coping with this. I hope you all find peace and contentment soon, however that may be. This former buckeye is sending their love your way ♥
Reagan babysat for our boys when we lived in Ohio. She was the sweetest, kindest, most caring girl. I am truly heartbroken to know that she was taken from her family and friends in such a horrible, senseless act. I pray that her family can find peace. God bless.
I didn’t have the privilege to know Reagan, but I wish that I would have. It’s beyond incomprehensible why someone so joyous, caring, amusing, convivial, exuberant, and with a future so bright can be taken away so senselessly and selfishly. She is someone’s daughter, sister, friend, and so much more. My heart aches for her and her family. There are no words in any language that can describe how much she’s loved and as there will remain thoughts of her, she will remain ingrained in our hearts. While I’m not donating nowhere near as much money as I wish I could, please accept my donation as financial assistance and for funding the scholarship for honoring Reagan. I wish to keep in touch and donate more as my financial situation changes. Thanks for sharing Reagan Tokes with the world and she’s in heaven now. Christopher Williams OSU student
Prayers go out to Regan's family, friends and all of her loved ones. I've cried over this for the past three days, I don't know Regan but this senseless act hurts even strangers. My heart breaks for her parents and her sister. May God give you the strength to get through this, there is no forgetting but I pray sunshine and happiness fills your hearts again, someday very soon. Turn to God for comfort, he will help you through this. Anthie Constantinidis
We have met Reagan & Makenzie at family parties... at Amanda & Jeff's house. What an honor it has been to watch these girls grow up. There are no word to express our sorrow & sympathy for your loss. No words can make the pain go away. There are hearts breaking all over ohio for you. All of you will be in my prayers every day for the rest of my life. This includes family & friends. Everyone will need strength to continue to move forward. If there is nothing else, know that there are people praying for you when you need it the most. Love & hugs to all of you!
Toby our hearts are sickened at the loss of your daughter. One of the biggest mysteries this side of heaven -why? We cannot comprehend how this loss has impacted your lives and your family. We send you all the love heaven can muster as solace and a refuge to watch over your family and bring you peace. You will be in our prayers as you go through these hard days. Only God knows why such tragedies happen to such amazing people. My prayer for you and your family is for miraculous love to abide and keep you. Just know you are not alone. We send you our love and for Gods abiding presence to restore hope.
Just checking in and I'm grateful to see all the support that everyone has given. I wish that I were at the RIGHT place at the RIGHT time. I wish I were there to help Reagan; I would've took a bullet for her and I'm sure I'm not alone. I will be looking out for a shuttle to Maumee, Ohio for her remembrance, if not, I will drive. I will continue to pray for the family during this difficult time.
I am hearing this from Orlando and I have to say after reading this story I am saddened from it. My heart goes out to her family and friends. I am sure she was a very sweet and caring person. Prayer's for the family and I am happy to hear they got this scumbag in jail where he belongs. I'm sorry for your loss.
What a beautiful young lady whose life was taken way to soon...I have been upset since i heard she was missing. How can someone do this? I pray for her soul, her family and for law enforcement to find and the courts to punish her murderer to the fullest extent of the law.
