Are You Ready to Climb?

Donation protected
My name is Dylan Moore. I live in Missoula, MT. You can find me on Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter.  I was both an Investor and Broker for two large financial firms so you can find comfort in knowing any money donated will be handled with care. I am extremely passionate about this cause and I hope you are too. When people disagree on social political issues I tend to listen to both sides but I rarely take a passionate stance. However, when people are literally dying because of a social issue it becomes dramatically more important to me. Please send any questions to me using the contact info below but I ask that you read the entire post before emailing.

How do I know you are a real person?
You can Google me and easily find my Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter accounts.  You can also search the FINRA Broker Check website to find my former Broker licenses when I worked for Raymond James. Before that I was an Investor with Wellington Management, a large investment firm in Boston. I am currently a Debt Collector for Colony Brands in Montana. My current passion in life is expanding the credit system to get more money and capital into the US economy as the gap between rich and poor expand. This Go Fund Me Campaign is a very important social issue to me and you will find this evident across my social media accounts. This Campaign is likely to run for the rest of my adult life.

How do I know my donation will help these issues?
I have found five organizations that will absolutely help these issues and I have decided to use two  Montana Banks to secure the money raised using FDIC insured limits of $250,000 at each bank. We will add more banks if necessary. The funds will initially be placed in interest bearing accounts and only the interest will be used to fund early legal costs and develop more of a social media presence around our brand #SaveGayMormons before we decide to allocate the money to these various charities. We will work with  the two banks in developing a long-term investment strategy to give money to these charities overtime ensuring any money raised is not given away as one lump sum, but rather a perpetual source of funds are available to families. We will come up with a way with our network to identify specific individuals and families in need as opposed to simply being a conduit to various charities.

What else can I do to help?
I am looking for somebody to help me with our SWAG (free stuff) to promote the brand further and we need as many people sharing the Campaign, Twitter Handle, and Facebook page as possible. The Mormon Church is relatively small as a percentage of the U.S. Population (5% penetration rate), so if you are not Mormon you can help broaden the impact by researching the issues, asking questions, and becoming an advocate to stop the deaths. If you are Mormon, you can engage with a side of the world you may not have been exposed to before and learn a lot in the process. I view this as two worlds colliding and communication is the best path to mutual under standing as to why these deaths are occuring.

Climbing Our Way to a Better Future

According to public data provided on this Public State of Montana website (data provided by the FBI), hate crimes against LGBT individuals in the State of Montana have increased over 100% the last decade vs the previous decade. This data alone should shock every local Montana Citizen.

Gay Mormons have high amounts of suicides and end up homeless more than the average gay person. This is because their local Bishops and Stake Presidents who love and try to understand gay people are not quite given the same freedoms and latitude to help them the way they do the regular members.

It causes confusion, isolation, and at times high rates of suicide and homelessness that any respected Financial Analyst can quickly determine is an outlier. However, everybody's "gut instinct" even from people inside the Church remains "the Church is trying to get better with LGBT issues". Yet people remain feeling hated, unloved, and at risk of suicide/homelessness. The shocking messages advocates for this community are getting are astounding and should shake American families to their core.

This Go Fund Me campaign is for any LGBT people in Missoula, Montana, or around the country who have been separated from their families because of hatred. If you are a Mormon, you know a gay person, you just may not know it yet. I ask you to help my cause.

If you are not Mormon, you should want to help these people's children who are being pushed out of their homes/communities because of a lack of love and understanding. Ironically, what is missing in these situations is the very pure love of Christ promoted by the Church itself. This money will be donated to various non-profit organizations, to create an asset base for future Gay Mormons in need, fund various legal costs associated with this effort, and ultimately to ensure the safety of Gay Mormons who feel abandoned by their own community.

Specifically, we plan to place any proceeds with two Montana-based banks, Stockman's Bank and Bank of Montana. The first bank is a family-owned business with strong Montana ties. The second bank is one of the safest banks in the State and run by a team of entrepreneurs (like us). We have selected the following primary charities for these efforts, which we explain in more detail below.

1. The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) for their rich history supporting American LGBT rights, including our LGBT youth, non-discrimination efforts against this community, as well as an advocate for religious freedoms. More information on this organization can be found here - https://www.aclu.org/issues/lgbt-rights. #LGBT

2. The Human Rights Campaign (HRC) for its long history supporting LGBT rights. More information on this organization can be found here - https://www.hrc.org/. #GayRights

3. Affirmation LGBTQ Mormons Families & Friends for their unique understanding of the needs faced by the LGBT community of those who grew up, converted, or have left the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.  More information on the organization and its founders can be found here. https://affirmation.org/. #SaveGayMormons

4. The Trevor Project for its leading efforts providing crisis intervention and suicide prevention for the LGBT youth under the age of 25. This is a major topic of concern for me personally. https://www.thetrevorproject.org/. #SuicidePrevention

5. Habitat for Humanity for its faith-based Mission and Vision statement to put more Americans of all kinds into more affordable housing. This has a direct impact, in our view, on the homeless population which has become a major issue for LGBT youth in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. https://www.habitat.org/about/mission-and-vision. #AffordableHousing

Ultimately, we are trying to start the conversation (#SaveGayMormons) more broadly as Mormons like Dan Reynolds, a Mormon and lead singer of #Imagine Dragons has done with his Documentary Believer (#Believer).  I believe the Institutional policies of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints are creating hate crimes not just here in the great State of Montana but across the entire United States of America -- a land built on religious freedom, freedom of speech, and civil liberties that our founding fathers wanted for ALL our people. This is my testimony and belief!
