RCMP Family Loses Home in Wildfire
The ongoing wildfires in BC's Cariboo region remind us that natural disasters can strike anyone at anytime. And we will be forever grateful for the dedication of emergency services personnel who risk their lives to keep us safe.
On Friday July 7th, 2017, our family was reminded that despite a passion, dedication, and unwavering commitment to protect families and communities no one is ever immune from disaster, as RCMP Corporal Chrona, along with his family, were forced to evacuate their home near Williams Lake, BC due to an encroaching wildfire.
They found out early July 8th that their family home was completely destroyed by the wildfire. They remain grateful that their family is safe, as their sons were already with extended family, or at summer military camp. However, without a home to return to, this family of five through lose and heartache, is showing resilience, determination, and strength. As they begin the difficult task of rebuilding their lives they will be faced with numerous immediate needs and expenses, as any family who has just lost their home would be. We are asking for help in raising the funds to assist the Chrona family respond to immediate expenses that may arise in the short term as they begin to rebuild.
Corporal Chrona remains dedicated to the community; the day after he loses his own home, he is trying to get his family situated so he can go back to work and help everyone else as fires still threaten others. This is one of those times that we, as a community, can pull together to help one of the people who risks his life to protect us, each and every day.
Thank you for any assistance you can provide.
