My brother, Raye Farrar was killed after a car collided with his motorcycle Thursday night 21 October in North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. My brother was 49 years old, husband to a woman with a disability and father of two young children.
Witnesses said a woman, Donelle Spivey, 31, of Charlotte, tried to make a U-turn in her Mazda coupe in front of his motorcycle, causing the crash. Spivey said she was setting her GPS at the time and it told her to make the U-turn.
It was discovered Spivey does not have a valid driver's license or auto insurance. She was charged with DUS, second offense, expired registration and unlawful lane change. She was taken to the North Myrtle Beach Jail, where she is held under a $1,967.50 bond.
This situation has caused a large financial need for my brother's family. They lost the primary bread-winner and left behind a family to take care of. There are no insurance monies coming in due to the woman not having a license, insurance, or any assets; so civil court for wrongful death is not an option.
At the time, he did not have a life insurance policy. He was a paycheck to paycheck man who did his best to provide for his family - and now he has been taken from us.
Funds are needed now! Your graciousness will provide food on the table, bills, and rent. Your donations will also provide time for his wife to investigate Social Security options and allow time for her to look for work. She has a disability (deafness 100% both ears) and finding work will be tough.
God Bless - please get the word out to loved ones and friends:
