Raven&Scott Art Show Fundraiser!

$555 of $2,500 goal

We are Raven Amos & Scott Elyard - and we are artists ! Our passion is to create stylistic and unique interpretations of long-extinct critters and their habitats, blending science with imagination. Over the past decade , we have put together (and participated in) several art exhibitions up here in Alaska, mainly in Anchorage and the Valley , all done with help and support from our fans, friends, and family. Several works from these shows have been subsequently donated to charity fundraisers and auctions, including the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation .

This year, we wish to continue our tradition, and give back even more to our community with two new art shows in Anchorage, AK! First up is a more "traditional" show for us, "Gallimaufric Science" opening very soon for First Friday May 2018 at Cafe D'Arte's Dimond location at 223 E Dimond Blvd (King's Row Shopping Center at King St. and Dimond). The second show is a complete departure from our more "normal" exhibits - a Halloween and "spooky" themed show called "All Hallow's Eve", opening First Friday in October 2018 at Modern Dweller's Chocolate Lounge in Midtown Anchorage at 530 E Benson Blvd (at the Metro Mall).

We work primarily in digital format, and as a result, creating new art is only half the battle - we need to print our pieces out to share them! This campaign seeks to cover the hanging equipment and printing costs of our new artwork for both shows.

Additionally, we hope to help cover the cost of new prescription eyewear for both of us. It has been a long time since either one of us has been able to afford an eye exam, and Scott especially needs a new pair of bifocals to replace his current pair of glasses, which are broken and over 7 years out-of-date.

While we already have most of the art finished and printed for the "Gallimaufric Science" show coming up in May, there are a few brand new pieces we wish to include in the exhibition that we need your help to print. The most help will be needed for the "All Hallow's Eve" show in October, as everything shown there will be entirely new!

We love to put on these shows, and your contributions carry us every year towards greater success. We love being able to give back to the community by donating the resulting artwork to local charities, and paying forward the generosity of our contributors.

This year especially, we would appreciate your help in not only letting others see our work, but by helping us quite literally see better with eye exams and new glasses. Please help us achieve these goals this year by donating to or sharing our campaign. In return, you'll receive one of several rewards listed here depending on your contribution level. Thank you!

We're off to a good start - thank you to everyone who has contributed so far!

I want to take a moment of this update to share with you another way your contributions will help - our furnace is over 40 years old and very flakey, and as a result, we heat the entire upstairs floor of the house I share with Scott and my mother with wood heat. Over the long winter, we ran out of wood and had to scavenge the road ditches looking for things to burn, cutting, splitting, and stacking. This is our haul today - unfortunately, this cuts into our time (and energy) for doing artwork and working on our show. With spring here, it's not as much of a priority as it was when the weather was below 0F, however it is still a chore we must do. Contributions that come in above and beyond the goal we've set will go towards making our workload a little less...intensive, as it will allow us to purchase already cut and split wood instead of taking hours out of our day.

Keep circulating and sharing the URLS! And thanks to all our supporters and fans.
