Rashiaya's Memorial Fund

Rashiaya Melton better known to family and friends as “Pig” or “Shay,” was violently shot in the head while attending a Halloween Party over the weekend in Cedar Grove, NC. Shay was a beautiful, smart, and amazing 18 year old senior at Cedar Ridge High School. She was a very vibrant, sociable, and loving young lady who was destined for greatness and deserved to live a much longer life. Shay passed away on Monday October 29, 2018 at UNC Hospital. The family has experienced two of the most unthinkable and devastating tragedies within the last six months. On Tuesday May 8, 2018 her 8 year old baby brother, Kamarlos, passed away unexpectedly from cardiac arrest less than 24 hours after having surgery. The family is now facing extreme hardship, due to the loss of two loved ones in such a short period of time.
