Ransel Buku - Give a child a chance

Dear Friends,
2015 was an incredible year for us in Ransel Buku. Almost four years ago when we started the program in 2012 and brought the books to children in remote villages along the river bank of Palangkaraya (Central Kalimantan), we did not know that the education program could achieve so much progress during these years.
This has been possible with the hard work from all of the program volunteers, supporters and you.
With your generous support, we are able to:
1. Continue giving environmental and health education to two Dayak villages nearby Palangka Raya with approximately 350 children involved.
2. Bring books to the fishing communities who live on floating houses nearby Palangka Raya with our floating library project, serving around 150 children. As well as giving extra income to local boat owners whose boats are used to bring books and librarian.
3. Bring music and dance teachers to teach the children of Katimpun village traditional Dayak music and dance since August 2015. We aim to introduce the Dayak culture at early age in order to build love and appreciation towards it as well as an effort to preserve the fading culture.
4. Help funding 5 students to continue their education to high school for the last two years.
5. Send two of our teachers to have 6 months green education training at Green School in Bali.
6. Build a library/resource centre in Katimpun, as our pilot village for the program that is projected to be completed in February or March 2016
In 2016, we are hoping to be able to continue running the programs and to be able to bring as much good impact as possible to these communities.
We continuously need support as the program gets bigger. We love the idea of staying grass-root and involving as many people who care (like you) as possible to join in the force.
We are aiming to raise AUD 20,000 to cover our 2016 expenses (12 months of:)

USD 10 contributes to 2 children picture books for the library
USD 20 contributes to 2 children picture books for the library and stationary for 3 kids
USD 50 contributes to 6 children picture books for the library and stationary for 6 kids
USD 100 contributes to a month salary of a teacher
USD 150 contributes to a month salary of a teacher and 10 children picture books
USD 200 contributes to a month salary of a teacher, a librarian for the floating library and 5 children picture books
USD 250 contributes to a month salary of a teacher and a librarian for the resource centre
