Dear Friends & Family:

With Amy and Mark's permission, I have started this fundraiser with two purposes in mind.  The first being rather obvious, to help cover any and all financial needs the family may have during this time of medical crisis.   The second is an emotional need that many of you share with me - just trying to find an immediate way to reach out and show them love, encouragement and support.

Matt suffered a stroke on the morning of Sunday, October 21st.  He was immediately transported by a critical care team from UVM Medical Center to Dartmouth-Hitchcock.  Surgery was performed to help regain blood flow to his brain.  As of 6:30am, this Monday morning, Matt is still unable to use his right side.  He remains primarily under sedation with the aid of a ventilator.  He will undergo an MRI this morning in hopes to gain further information on his continued critical situation.

Matt is a champion. He is strong, brave, and of remarkable character.  Please help show the Yandows the support you are currently feeling in your hearts.

Matt has been transferred back to the Burlington area for rehabilitation therapy. His feeding tube was removed, he is able to eat whatever he chooses and is making remarkable progress with speech and movement. Thank you all so much for the support, kind words, and compassion towards the family.

Thank you all so very much for the outpouring of love and support! Matt and family will be transferred back to UVM Med Center this coming week. He will continue to be hospitalized but is now in stable enough condition to do so near his home. ❤️

From Amy: Update : MRI showed three spots impacted by multiple strokes. Two in the cerebellum and a small spot on this brain stem. The main spots impacted in his brain control coordination and balance. The drs are going to continue to monitor the areas impacted and watch for any swelling. Now that the clot is gone his cerebellum is getting good blood flow. The part of his brain that was injured from the stroke affected him having use of his right side. And his speech. Thank you for your continued prayers and love . I can’t wait to tell him all about all your well wishes . Going to see him soon without his tubes and less sedation meds
