Ismael Doumbia was brutally murdered while working at a gas station.
He was a family man and a devoted father. He barely missed Youssef’s soccer games whether in State or out of State. He would rather miss his sleeping time rather than missing his son’s game. It did not matter if he had to work later at night that game day. He was friend to so many people. Helping others was something he longed for. Providing for his family no matter how many hours he had to work was what he did.
Ismael’s goal was to see his son graduate from High School and go to college something he was not able to achieve for himself. He always used to tell his only son Youssef: “I know you will reach much higher than I did.”
It was not surprising to anyone who knew Ismael and his family to hear his son say the very next day of this tragedy: “I am going to school to take my final exam because my dad would have told so if he were here.”
With Ismael’s life cut so short, the question we all have is: “Will Youssef be able to complete High School and afford to go to college?”
Youssef is a sophomore at PHILLIP O. BERRY with aGPA of almost 4.0 He is an avid athlete and an excellent soccer player.
With his dad gone so soon and the financial burden that this creates, we are setting a GO FUND ACCOUNT to keep this dream alive
