Raeven Porter Legacy & Family Fund

For those who know Raeven, she is the mother of two beautiful children, a devoted sister, and a daughter who lights up the life of her mother.  A little rough around the edges, but smooth enough to evoke laughter across the board for those having a hard day.

In recent events, Raeven made a decision that has brought forth light to our community about a somewhat taboo topic, addiction.  For those who are ill informed, addiction is a disease that affects the brain and behavior due to the use of drugs, alcohol, or engaging in behavior that is pleasurable, yet if continued can interfere with life.  It can affect anyone from fellow friends, to parents, to the head hauncho of a fortune 500 company, or to our very own, Raeven.

There is a science behind addiction, and then there are psychological aspects of addiction that prevent those in need from asking for help.  I'm attaching links for those who want to read up on addiction.  It's a very real disease, and should not be taken lightly.

Raeven has overcome so many obstaclces.  She was on her way to her GED, attending the necessary meetings she needed to keep her on the right path, and most importantly, she was spending her time with those who cared most for her.  Talks of culinary school were brought up when discussing her next move, and all you could see was the genuine smile from the pleasure of cooking brought her.  When mama or mommy was spoken, she more often than not, knew exactly what was needed before her little ones could finish their sentence. Raeven was a woman on her way to doing big things for her and her family.

Although she may not be able to finish the job herself, the family is asking for help in making sure the job gets finished in the exact way Raeven would have.  Zae'Yonah 3, Zavi'Yon almost 2, and Za'Lani(her unborn baby) will be the ones to carry on their mothers passion, strength, and ravishingly good looks.  They will never be alone, but realistically, there could be some hardships placed in front of them.  We, as a whole, are asking for donations that will aid in Raeven's cremation (when the time comes), which estimates around $1,200, and for the further benefit of her little ones.  21 was Raeven's favorite number, so we are asking for $2,100 for each of her kids.  This could cover diapers, clothes, the obvious necessities for children, but it will also cover experiences that their mother would have liked to given them herself.  Trips to Sesame Place, Disney World, or the start of that college fund for the ever so brilliant Zae'Yonah, who will for sure be the greatest role model for her siblings.  I will bet my bottom dollar on that.

Every little bit counts, a penny, a dime, whichever.  Let's ensure these little ones get to send mommy on a rocket ship to the moon, for that's where she loved them to the moon and back.
