RACISM - comes in many colors

If a Native American came to your next game wearing a jersey with the N-word written across it, would you be offended? Then why do you allow the NFL to have a jersey with the racist Redskin word on it?

DICTIONARY.COM
REDSKIN – [Red-skin] Noun, A disparaging and offensive contemptuous term used to refer to a North American Indian.

N-WORD – Noun, A disparaging and offensive contemptuous term used to refer to a Black person.

Many people wonder how the name Redskin came about.  It is part of America’s terrible past just like Slavery.  When the government was paying bounties for the dead bodies of Native Americans to remove them so they could steal their land.

The first posters said the word Indian bodies and told how much was to be paid for the body of a man, woman, or child.  The Church spoke out against this, not against the killing of Native Americans, but the word body being used.  They felt it was too similar to the Body of Christ.  Since they saw Native Americans as being animals, not human, the same way they saw black people who were their slaves.

They had the word body removed.  They decided that since these people are animals and not human that their dead bodies should be the same as animals.  When you kill a deer and bring in it’s dead bloody carcass, we call it a deerskin.  A bear, we call it a bearskin.  So from now on the bloody dead carcass of these animals will be called Redskin!

How long will it take before we stand up against hatred and racist people and ban this Racist Name?
