Rachael Ness Parrett Memorial Fund

If you're here, you know Matthew and Rachael. You also know how difficult of a time it is for Matthew as he navigates all the challenges both emotional and logistical that come with the passing of a spouse. I am personally blown away by the strength he's showing as he takes care of his two boys while also processing what I can't even begin to imagine is the worst pain of his life. Matthew is a warrior. He is the strongest willed person I know. And I am certain he will make it through this tragedy as well as anyone possibly could.


But - Matthew, an incredibly talented programmer, is also in the middle of a job hunt. My company was his employer for more than a decade. About a month ago that company finally reached a point where it could no longer support either of us with full time salaries. So we both found ourselves looking for another source of income.
As Matthew's friends, family, and former co-workers, and as people who have also at one point or another been looking for a job, I know we can relate to the stress that a job hunt brings even in the best of times. So this fund is intended to help ease as much of the burden as we can on Matthew as he navigates all the challenges he has over the coming months. 100% of the funds will go directly to Matthew. And there will be no stipulation on how he uses them. I'm sure we can all agree that no matter the amount we manage to raise, he will put it to very responsible and valuable use.
Finally, Matthew was not consulted on the creation of this campaign as I thought he would see it as far too generous of his friends. But he is aware of it now and immensely grateful for the help financially. He is also deeply moved by how many amazing people truly care about him and his family.
