Chad Kraeft has been in the ICU since Tuesday, November 24 following acute kidney and liver failure from an electrolyte imbalance. He stopped breathing and collapsed, leaving him in a coma with potential brain damage.
Chad and his wife Claire have medical insurance, but are facing a $5000 deductible that will need to be paid.
The Kraefts, married 17 months, run their own web development business, MirageLab, which cannot fully function without Chad.
Claire has no idea how much their medical bills will be yet. With Chad's continuing comatose state, the potential brain damage, the number of medical procedures he has already needed, and the fact that their insurance policy comes with a lifetime maximum, they will need help.
We ask only for assistance with the high deductible, which is a considerable amount already. Anything above that will be applied to things like future medications, physical therapy, and whatever costs come up while Claire is running MirageLab by herself and trying to take care of her husband.
Claire, Chad, and their families are doing what they can during this traumatic time, but would be incredibly grateful for any assistance you can offer. Thank you for your compassion through this crisis.
If you can't show your support financially, please consider sharing this page, and posting a picture of Chad's favorite animal, the raccoon, with the hashtag #RaccoonsforChad.
