Janicia's New Start

Donation protected
My name is Janicia West. I am a single mother of three amazing children. (ages 5,7,8). and I have a vision.
I am disabled. I was born with a condition called Optic Nerve Atrophy. This condition is not correctable. I cannot drive, work a regular job, and my daily activities are somewhat limited .
I don't like to give it much thought. Today is the day to LIVE! I can appreciate what it means to be able to enjoy what sight I do have. While my physical vision is limited, my life vision is NOT.
I came out of an abusive marriage only4 short years ago. I do not believe that abuse is ever just one sided. There were beliefs and insecurities in place on my part that enabled me to be in the position that I was in to be involved in the abusive situation. My now ex-husband is a man who has endured much pain in his childhood. I hold no harsh feelings towards him.
I have had 4years to come through a healing process and my children have been rescued from a difficult future.
My faith in Jesus Christ accompanied by my passion for horses (the Parelli program in particular) have been my guide in this healing process.
An amazing family supported my children and I emotionally, mentally, physically and financially while we were coming through our process of healing. They have given all they have and financially can no longer help or support us.
They share with me a vision for helping others out of situations like mine. Parents in the midst of divorce, children hanging in the balance, teenagers with no support in their lives. We know we can make a difference for them as the difference has been made for us.
I personally have been following and have been a student of the Parelli Natural Horsemanship program since 2009. It has transformed my view of relationship between horse and human and has paved the way for me to begin to piece together the same qualities possible in human to human relationships.
It provoked new thought to the possibility of change in my life. It has proven itself to be a tried and true method of teaching horses through love, language and leadership in equal doses as opposed to fear, intimidation and mechanics.
My children are also enjoying their own journeys in learning how to foster healthy relationships with their horses and with each other. I have seen evidence of the program making significant changes in their own confidence and self worth.
I believe I have what it takes to be a teacher of this program. I love to engage in challenging sessions with horses . I love sharing my passion with anyone who desires to participate or watch from the sidelines and I especially enjoy working with my children and their equine partners.
My desire is to attend a 10 week intensive horsemanship course at a Parelli campus and become a certified Parelli instructor. With this certification, I can support my children and move onto a larger goal of opening up a 501(c)3 to offer horsemanship to local youth/families in troubled situations.
It will take a minimum of $25,000.00 to purchase the course, pay for housing costs, traveling fees and filing fees for the startup of the 501(c)3 and to make necessary improvements to the current facility.
I need your help to reach this goal. Any donation will go a long way to help support this cause and help us move closer to helping those around us who are hurting. Any amount is greatly appreciated. I also sell equine artwork at www.facebook.com/equineartbyjanicia and http://fineartamerica.com/art/all/janicia+west/all and any proceeds from those sells will go directly to support this cause.  Thank you so much for your time and consideration.
