UNO Flight Team to Nationals!
University of Nebraska at Omaha's Aviation Institute has an organization call the Flying Mavericks (Flight Team). The Flying Mavericks are one of several schools in the nation that are a part of the National Intercollegiate Flying Association(NIFA), and compete against these schools around the country. After a successful regional competition, the UNO Flying Mavericks, qualified for Nationals competition in Columbus, Ohio. We are currently raising money for our costly trip. We take two airplanes across the country as well as a couple of rental cars to help us navigate our way around Columbus, OH. Those expenses plus hotel cost and food for over a week, make it a rather expensive event to attend. We have made it to Nationals now 7 consecutive years and have improved and become stronger and stronger each year. We have high goals to place in the top 10 amongst the Embry-Riddles and University of North Dakota as one of the best aviation schools in the nation. Going to this competition is an unforgettable experience and has great networking opportunities for our future. Being that the competition is the first week of May, we have a goal to raise the money needed to fund the trip as soon as possible. Your donations to this organization are greatly appreciated and will greatly benefit us as a team. Thank you and if you have any questions about flight team and our competitions, do not hesitate to ask.+ Read More
