My name is Donnica Pinder, I'm a teen mom and a single parent who resides at home with my parents. I'm 20 years old and was diagnosed with epilepsy at the tender age of 11 and conversion disorder at the age of 16, due to the frequency of my seizures. The doctors are unable to say what is the cause of my seizures. Over the years I was placed on a number of drugs; Dilantin, Depakene, Teggretol, and Lamictal. The dosaged ranged from 75mg to 400mg at various stages in my life. None of these drugs stopped my seizures. In fact I have the seizures while I'm taking the drugs. Being plagued with these seizures and no apparent cure, has not been easy. In addition, I also suffer from the numerous side effects caused by these drugs. Employers are unwilling to hire me and those that do don't want to keep me once I have an episode. They don't want to be responsible for me, and see me as a risk they are not willing to take. My father is the sole provider for our home. My mother is disabled and unable to work due to an industrial accident sustained on her job. She is currently battling with The National Insurance Board to sort her situation out. It's going on 4 years now with no end in sight. I have seen a number of doctors between Nassau, Freeport and the United States with no reason for my seizures. My seizures are getting worst and becoming more frequent. I often cause serious injury to by body when I have these seizures. I have to travel abroad to see the neurologist/specialist and do a number of tests and scans to find out what's the matter with me. My condition is not allowing me to take care of my son Nathaniel or myself. I urgently need funds to pay for airfare, taxi, lodging, doctor visits and relevant exams and tests as soon as possible. Any and all assistance rendered is grately appreciated. I will also accept assistance in the form of lodging, airline travel and or fundraisers. I appreciate all your help in any possible way to meet my needs. I pray that God will continue to richly bless you always. Thank you for your support.
