Hope for Tanners Rare Water Allergy

Please read this heartbreaking story....My friend's son,  Tanner, suffers from a mysterious aliment that causes his body to flare with pain when coming in contact with WATER.  Conventional doctors and medicines have not been able to help or alleviate his physical pain.  He suffers greatly and is seeking relief, comfort and a chance to live a normal life.  Here's his brief story from his Mother's point of view:

"Tanner's story is hard for anyone to understand. It really got serious in January 2015. Any time he would come into contact with water or his own sweat on his skin it causes him to feel terrible pain. When he gets wet or sweaty, with in minutes he is at a pain level of 7-8. It takes 4-7 days for the pain to go away. His skin burns. Not only does it burn but it is so sensitive he can not wear a shirt or pants. The clothing touching his skin is to painful. When he is at home he can not sleep in his own bed. The mattress hurts his skin. He now has a rope hammock he sleeps in. The ropes still hurt his skin. He has cried him self to sleep to many times.


We have gone to numerous Dermatologists, Allergists, and Neurologists and a pain management team. Most doctors have no idea what is causing Tanner so much pain. The Denver Children's hospital gave us our first and second diagnosis. May of last year the Doctors thought he had Aquagenic Urticaria. The second was Auqu puritis. He is allergic to water. They do not know of any cure and all of the medications they have had him try have not helped with the pain at all.

His skin flares are just as painful now as they were a year ago. While his "skin flares" even though his skin is burning he feels like he is freezing. We have three heaters running around him to try to keep him warm so he does not get goosebumps. Even though it is 85 degrees or warmer he feels cold.

Every day he is on Propanolol, Gabapentin, Allergra, Hydroxozine, clonodine, and Ramidadine. When he is in pain he could take Ibeprophen, Tramadol, and Oxycodone. I do not let him take any of the pain killers because he has tried them and they do not help with the pain at all.

Tanner would like to be a very active kid. He loves to hunt, fish, ride his horse his bike and his favorite sport was to play football. This condition has changed all of that for him. Any time he has a skin flare he is unable to to go to school. A tiny amount of water or sweat and he is stuck in the house for days in constant pain."

This family has gone through extensive emotional and physical pain.  There have been no answers or relief from the conventional medical system and there is nothing more they can do to help him.  Financial stress is also taking its toll...but now there is a new hope for Tanner.

Last week, the family connected with a Nauturopahic Pediactric specialist that has dealt with unusual cases similar to Tanner's and feels he can help.  He has offered to see and assess Tanner's case at a reduced rate.  Tanner and his family need to get to Florida ASAP and have the finances to pay for the trip as well as alternative therapies, as most of the therapies are not covered under insurance.  Out of pocket costs may be substantial.
