Help the FIRST World Festival Go BERZERK!

We are Team Berzerk, a FIRST LEGO League (FLL) team from Shoreview, Minnesota. FLL is a program that challenges kids to use innovation, teamwork and imagination to solve a real world problem while also building and programming a robot.
Our team consists of three girls and three guys in eighth grade at Chippewa Middle School. Collectively, we have over 25 years of experience in FLL. You can read more about Anisha, Anuva, Claire, Cody, Max and Soren at goberzerk.org. Our favorite fact about our team is how we exemplify the FIRST Core Value of "Coopertition." Until this year, we were two separate teams, competing against each other. This year, we joined forces and went Berzerk!
We have a history of excellence in FLL, with both teams winning many awards over the years. The girls have advanced to the State Championship every year since 2016; the guys, since 2017. Bringing our teams together was an exercise in compromise, listening and inclusion.
This is our final year of FLL, and we decided to focus on making an impact on other teams in our area. We encouraged the Department of Aerospace Engineering at the University of Minnesota to produce an event, attended by 250 people, to introduce FLL teams to the problems faced by humans traveling in space. We mentored two younger teams, and gave community demos at area businesses, schools, and Cub Scout meetings. Our efforts helped us win the 3rd place Champion's Award at the 2019 Minnesota FLL State Championship.
We are now honored to be among the teams representing Minnesota at the FIRST Championship this April in Detroit. This is an exciting event, unlike any we've competed in before, with teams coming from around the globe to share their work and have fun!
We are grateful for the Natalie Tiedemann Scholarship provided to Minnesota teams through High Tech Kids. This scholarship has paid for our tournament fees and will help cover other costs. Our goal is to raise an additional $8000 to fund travel, lodging, food, team clothing and materials for our booth at the World Championship.
Thank you for supporting Team Berzerk! Donations of any size are helpful and appreciated.
