NHR Hay Fire Fund

We Need your help friends!

We want to share with our many Facebook friends, especially locals who may have heard, that there was indeed a fire at the ranch today, but thankfully everyone is ok!

Thanks to the quick thinking of the wonderful community of Rantoul/Lane who called in the fire, then helped move animals and property to safety, the damage was isolated to a storage shed near the Miller's house which stored many personal belongings and the horse drawn sleigh that NHR used to decorate for Christmas.

This building was a total loss, but thanks to the diligent work of the local volunteer fire department the Miller's home, vehicles and tractors were saved. The NHR barn and all the horses are safe and we are immensely grateful for that!

Unfortunately there was a loss... adjacent to the building that was lost were 43 large round bales of this year's hay, which were also lost (and continued to burn through Sunday).

This was much of the hay that would feed the NHR horses this winter and will need to be replaced with donated hay or donation to purchase more round bales. If you know of anyone who might be interested in donating hay please send them to this page.
