Quincy Rice Funeral
Donation protected
My name is Amber, and I started this campaign to help cover the funeral cost. Quincy was not only a friend to me, but like a brother.
Quincy Rice was a father, brother, son, and mentor to many. He was a college wrestler and then joined Mixed Martial Arts. He was a high ranked black belt in Judo and ran different gym's across Michigan. Quincy trained atheletes both physcially and mentally.
Unfortanetly Quincy struggled with depression and anxiety and turned to drugs as an outlet to manage his internal demons. After years of being addicted to prescription pills and then turning to herion. He went to rehab in February 2015 where he became clean and sober and found God. He started leading recovery meetings and helping others struggling with addiction. After almost a year and 8 months into his sobriety, the demons inside of him resurfaced and he relapsed, causing him to overdose.
This campaign was started to first help the family with the unexpected funeral and memorial expenses. After the funeral is paid for, any remaining money collected will go towards a nice headstone. Once the family has decided where they want to put it, we will move forward with that.
I have the donations being deposited directly to an empty savings account. Where it will sit until we figure out what headstone to go with.
Quincy was one of the smartest men we ever knew. He was selfless and always offered the best advice.
He will forever be in our hearts.
