Quench the Squench Wench fund

I was introduced to this lil Wench, one day after work, in my living room. He hated me at first, and to be honest, i didn't really take kindly to him either. He actually used to be this homeless guy's dog back in Miami, Florida. My Dad ended up meeting this guy and offered him a ride from Florida to California in exchange for the lil Wench.

My dad was a truck driver, so he would bring Wench on trips with him, to Florida, Texas, pretty much the whole southern boarder of the USA.

On one trip, my Dad and Wench visited a friend's farm. The owner of the farm had 3 dogs: one German Shephard and two Pitbulls. While Wench was roaming around, the dogs became extremely territorial, they attacked him: breaking his jaw, biting into his head, smashing some of his teeth, and biting some deep holes into his side. We thought he was gonna die.

After some surgery and minimal repairs, due to the amount my parents were willing to pay, he got "better". But, actually, his jaw was still fractured, he had chronic pain in his mouth, that would cause him to scream.

They couldn't afford the upkeep for him and figured, he is still able to eat, he's still able to play, he's mostly happy all the time...."HE'S FINE".

I think because of his "vagabond" kind of nature, he liked wondering around, so any chance he could get out, he wondered away. My parents would lose him over and over and over again. To the point, where my boyfriend and I just took him in ourselves this last Thanksgiving, because we felt we could love him more and he wouldn't have the opportunity to wander and get lost.

But, recently he has been screaming in pain more and more often. We took him into the vet finally, and it turns out he has Peridontal Disease, his jaw was still fractured, he has severe Gingivitis, and side of his jaw that is fractured is diseased due to the Peridontal.

The vet's treatment for this is to remove that side of his mandible and all of his teeth. This will get rid of the diseased area, and lessen the inflammation of his gums and pain overall. The procedure is $5600.

So far, half of the amount is paid. I'm having a very difficult time rallying up the other half. And with the amount of commissions I already have and lack of time, I'm asking you guys for help.

He's a really good dog: he loves walks, the park, other dogs, he loves sitting on your lap and making wheezing sounds at you. I feel like Wench has always gotten the crap end of the stick. He's never been given the proper love and care, and we want to try and give him a healthier life.

Any amount you could donate helps!

Thanks,
Veronica
