Quanta Cares - Harvey Relief Fund
Donation protected
Quanta Family,
Over the last few days, Hurricane Harvey has caused catastrophic impacts across Texas, where hundreds of our employees, contractors and their families live and work. We have colleagues spread over 300 miles of Texas and Louisiana coastline, with homes in communities such as Corpus Christi, La Grange and Beaumont, and of course across the greater Houston area, where evacuations are ongoing.
It’s in difficult times like this that I’m especially proud to work for Quanta and humbled to lead this great team. There have been so many examples of co-workers looking out for each other. And we thank our colleagues and friends across the country and around the world, who have sent messages of support.
Please keep the men and women working tirelessly in the field in your prayers. They continue to make all of Quanta proud and are delivering world-class storm restoration efforts all across Texas, despite many of them personally dealing with the same levels of devastation.
The past several days have had a significant impact on us all. Witnessing the suffering from this unprecedented disaster, as well as the amazing response from our fellow neighbors and friends, makes us ask ourselves how we can do more?
In response, Quanta Services is establishing a fund named “Quanta Cares” to collect donations for fellow employees impacted by Hurricane Harvey. Quanta will make an initial donation of $250,000 to help start the fund, and will also match each employee’s donation dollar for dollar up to another $250,000. All donations will be tax deductible.
In the mid-term, we will be trying to establish the opportunity for payroll deductions offering a one-time donation or an amount spread over several pay periods.
Quanta’s entire leadership team will also be contributing to jumpstart this fund, and I am encouraging all who are able to join me in giving.
As we look forward, our goal will be to continue Quanta Cares for the entire organization with the mission of helping fellow employees in need as a result of future catastrophic events, no matter where they impact our Quanta Family. Look for more details coming soon.
For those directly impacted, on behalf of Quanta, you can be sure that we stand ready to support you through the recovery process. Stay safe, and let’s continue to lean on one another as we make our way through this unprecedented event.
Stay safe,
Earl C. “Duke” Austin, Jr.
