Some of you may have been following media reports via Alberta RCMP, television news, local papers and radio stations regarding the disappearance of Kelsey Nichol Kramer, the 23 year old mother of 3 from Alder Flats, Alberta. The latest update on April 1 was that Kelsey's body was found. Kelsey has 3 children, Wesley the oldest, is 5 years old and has multiple special needs including blindness. Taissabell is 3 years old and Colt is 9 months. Losing their mom is not the first tragedy these babies have endured. While Kelsey was pregnant with Colt she lost her partner and the babies lost their daddy, Cass Elliot, unexpectedly on February 5, 2015.
Wesley, Taissabell and Colt are in the care of their grandparents, Tricia and Allen Kramer. Tricia and Allen have welcomed their orphaned grandbabies into their loving home and are still raising their own children; Jeremy, 17, Tristin, 16, and Payton, 15. Due to the economic downturn in the Alberta economy the grandfather, Allen, has fallen victim to the oil and gas industry lay offs. Tricia will need to take a leave from work to care for the baby and toddlers. Wesley's condition involves significant medical expenses which require trips to the city (180 km-one way) for medical appointments. In addition to Wesley's medical needs Tricia and Allen's home will require renovations to meet Wesley's needs and to accommodate housing the grandbabies and their own children.
This family is kind and generous with loving hearts. They have opened their home to many children in need over the years and always step up in the community when a need arises. This family needs us now.
