Sean Rey, Victim of 2 Hit & Runs

Donation protected

On April 2, 2015, my cousin, Sean Rey was riding his bicycle to work when a truck collided into him.  He was ejected from the bike , then ran over by another car, being dragged appx 56 feet.  Both cars left the scene of the accident. The first vehicle returned but the second vehicle remained at large.  He was just a few feet away from his job.

Sean had multiple broken bones including a shattered hip, pelvis, and femur. He also had multiple fractured ribs, a skull fracture, a fractured left fibular and fractured right elbow, multiple cervical and thoracic fractures, and a collapsed lung.  He underwent several surgeries and everything was touch and go for days.

Sadly, after 16 days of fighting so hard, Sean succumbed to his injuries & passed away on April 18, 2015.  He was 26 years old.

The police identified Rebecca Roberts as the first driver who initially hit Sean and left him in the road.  She never rendered aid nor did she ever dial 911.  The police found the second car & took DNA samples from the under carriage.  After over 3 months, we are still awaiting results!

The lack of response and incompetence from the police department may have something to do with the driver of the second vehicle, Forrest Duncan, who for decades worked as the court bailiff in Russell County and who's son now holds that position.  His son-in-law, Chris Blackshear, is a Phenix City Council member.  Mr. Duncan has ties with the District Attorney (of over 30 years), Kenneth Davis.

Neither driver have been arrested or charged with any crime.  While other similar cases are being handled in a timely manner, Sean's is being swept under the rug.

What started out as a campaign towards Sean's medical expenses, has now turned into his funeral expenses and court expenses.  It's time we get Justice for Sean.

This case remains "under investigation", and anyone with information is asked to call the police department at (334) [phone redacted].  Or you can call and ask why there's a delay in justice for this case.  Good luck on getting a response as they have yet to give Sean's family any updates.

ALL MONEY GOES DIRECTLY TO SEAN'S MOTHER, BRENDA, TO HELP PAY FOR JUSTICE FOR SEAN!
