Coming Together For Stefanie

On September 5th, a beautiful young couple from Germany were visiting Las Vegas to celebrate their three year wedding anniversary. Rolf (34) and Stefanie (30) Klöppel were on their way to see the Grand Canyon when their shuttle bus was hit by an alleged drunk driver. The collision caused both vehicles to ignite; two people were killed, one of the victims was Rolf, Stefanie's husband. Stefanie received severe burns to her arms and face. She is currently in the burn unit and will undergo more surgeries.  Because of her injuries, it will be some time before she can return to her career as an oncology nurse in Germany; this is where you can help. We are raising funds to help ease her financial burden during her recovery. Stefanie is enduring this tragedy in a foreign country, she speaks very little English, she is heartbroken and without any family. Luckily, she has been blessed with two German speaking hospital employees. Angela(nurse)and Bibi have given her much needed support and comfort. Sometimes, blessings don't just happen, they are created by the angels among us, such as her caregivers;  blessing #1. Blessing #2 would come from two strangers Stefanie had never met.

Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, Fatal Detail, Detectives,  Kenny Salisbury and Paul Solomon, days after the accident,  learned that Stefanie was upset because she didn't have Rolf's wedding band. These two wonderful men put on haz-mat suits and spent several hours sifting through soot from the burned out bus,  and by some miracle,  they found his wedding band! 

At the hospital, Stefanie  asked me if I wanted to see a picture of her beloved husband, Rolf. Even with her face covered in bandages, I could see the love in her eyes.
