Praying for the Gilotti family

UPDATE!! Apparently there are some concerns with the legitimacy of this account so I have been asked to clarify some things. My name is Alexandra Montague, I live on Park Side Circle in Hoover Alabama near the victim and his family. I did not personally know the victim or his family, but my husband also goes to the gym every morning at 4:30 without fail including the day this incident happened and when I heard about this I was absolutely rocked to my core thinking this very well could have been my family. Of course at that time I was grateful it was not, but my heart immediatley went out to what his wife and kids were going through and just heartbroken for them and our community. Immediately an outpouring of love and concern for the family was expressed through the private Lake Cyrus Home Owners association page and I created this account so our neighbors and whomever else wanted to donate could be apart of that and that we could be a blessing to them during this tragedy. Everyone loved the idea and began donating immediately. Another question I am supposed to address is how the funds will be spent.The answer to that question is "that is not for me to decide", we do not know the immediate or long term need for this family, we do however know that a tragedy such as this comes with the obvious cost of a funeral as well as the loss of income, time taken off by the widow, or whatever else this family may need during this time. I just felt and its not uncommon to think that eliminating financial strain for her during this time would allow her to focus on greiving the loss of her spouse, comforting and taking care of her kids, and moving forward into her new normal. The last question I am made to address is how do I intend to get the funds to the family. Through our Homeowners association private group page, there are several people who are direct contacts to the family and are talking with them and helping us keep all efforts organized and not overwhelming them. Also my contact information has been passed on to the father in law of the victim who is staying in the home with his daughter (however he just received my contact info today) so he has not yet reached out. As of today I was made aware of another gofundme account setup by a close family friend, I would like to from here out let that page be the direct route for donations and once this matter is cleared up and GOFUNDME releases the hold they now have on these funds due to me being reported, I would like to get the family these funds as quickly as humanly possible on behalf of every single person who donated! Thank you all so much for your generosity, and for your willingness to trust this campaign to be a random act of kindess. Thats what was on my heart and Im so sorry if that felt suspicious to anyone. As soon as the funds are available they will be given to the family. I will then provide proof of that transaction so that everyone knows that their donation was apart of something really wonderful! Please also understand several donations came in from people who know me very well, neighbors in lake cyrus. I am held accountable by them if anything, people who know me and know where I live :) If there are any other things I can clarify please let me know. Thank you.

I did not know this family but when you're apart of a community and something so tragic happens, it feels as if it's happening to a family member. Let's rise up amongst horrific tragedy with the ability to pull together to bless this family with a little something to help them during the greatest loss of their life.
