Kaylee B. Carnegie Hall Performance

Hello! I'm Kaylee Brooks and I am a Senior in small town Marlow, Oklahoma. I have been singing for as long as I can remember. Singing has always been a tremendous part of my life. Currently I am a 4 year member of my High School Honor Choir "The Marlow Entertainers" and I am the top Soprano for all schools in Southwest Oklahoma.  I also enjoy leading Praise and Worship for my Student Group at First Baptist Church, Marlow, OK.  This past school year my choir teacher, Mr. Logan, pulled me aside and told me he had nominated me for a High School Honors Performance Series that will be performing at Carnegie Hall.  I sent in a vocal recording of me singing an Italian styled song that met the specific time requirements and an application explaining my awards, achievements, etc. in early June. After a long five month wait, I received an email informing me I had been accepted into the choir. This is such an honor because out of the 18,000 individuals from all across the world that auditioned and applied for this choir, I was one of the 750 individuals who were accepted. A few exciting things we will be doing as part of this choir is attending a Broadway Show, tour Times Square and Rockefeller Center's must-see "Top of the Rock" observation deck, attend a Finalist Celebration Cruise aboard a private yacht, and most important, perform on the stage of Carnegie Hall. This is a once in a lifetime event and looks amazing to colleges I hope to attend next fall, but it is also an expensive trip.  With the expenses for flight, meals, hotel, performance clothing, and souvenirs it all adds up to nearly $3,000. Any amount of money you could donate to help lower this cost would be a tremendous help to my family and I as we try to pay for this along with all the other expenses of senior year. Donating even a small amount will help me become one step closer to achieving this amazing dream of mine and experiencing a once in a lifetime event.
