For a friend in need

We all have that friend, lets call her M (just for the sake of her anonymity, she doesn't know I'm doing this and she's rather shy about these things),  that is too good for the hand this world has dealt them with. I met M my freshmen year of university and she was a quite and reserved girl, that is, until you got to know her. But once you did get that opportunity and she allowed herself to unwind on the weekends when we all have the opportunity to just breath and relax, she could be the life of the party, absolutely hilarious, a gorgeous woman inside and outside.

When she's not the life of the party she is the most dedicated student you could possibly find. But when she's not painstakingly rewriting Chinese characters over and over again, she's at work study doing everything she possibly can, while being a full time student as well, to support her education all on her own. I won't go too much into detail about her home life, as its not my place, and as I said she's a shy girl, but those of you who are aware of my parental situation, she got an even less ideal circumstances than I have that couldn't be helped. It's still a sensitive subject.

Earlier this year tho, she asked me to proofread an email for her, which the spark notes version of was her asking the school to negotiate  her scholarship allowance, extra scholarship opportunities, to extra work study hours so that she could carry on with her studies and graduate in two years with the rest of us.

In that email that I proof read for her, she had made mention of various other expenses she perceived she'd be needing to scrounge for in the near future in order to aid in her bargaining, one of those was a laptop.

Those in university or who have recently left, I don't need to tell you that the laptop is the crux of your education now a days. Its more important than a pen, paper and yes even your textbooks.

I watched, from that very first week I met her freshmen year to that day when she asked me  to proof read her email to the school, as M lugged around her enormous backpack with all her textbooks, her notebooks and pens and her ancient near death laptop that no longer worked unless it was plugged into an outlet.

Now, I can't convince the school to grant this aspiring woman a dime extra towards her education, that's their call. I can't change the way that her life played out to get her to this point of lonely desperation. But what I can do is use my platform to crowdfund to help a dear friend get the one bit of school supplies that she needs and take some of the enormous weight she bears by herself off her hands so she no longer has to worry about it

She was in two of my earlier videos as a Youtuber and still figuring out what I wanted my channel to be at the start of my university experience ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EBP6Pi7go1Y, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ejShxOszlvs  for reference ) and to be frank, I'd like her to be in the video I make when I graduate University as well.

I hope that I can surprise her with this in two weeks when I see her after we come back from spring break

That's 4/2/18

I'll be turning 20 very very soon guys, and honestly this is the only thing I want for my birthday, to help someone and to do some good with my platform.

If you do decided to donate, Thank you so much for your help, helping M means the world to me. If not, then please consider sharing this GoFundMe. You have no idea how grateful I am. Again, thank you.
