SHADOW - UPDATE 09-21-2020-3 YEARS TODAY SHAD❤️W

On 9/21/17 HARNESS IMBEDDED INTO SKIN...PLEASE HELP!

I would have never seen him if it were not from
Hurricane Irma knocking down their fence and he was tied up to a chain on the side of the house...and about 95 degrees.

His skin was like hard leather, kinda like an elephants skin or a pig and looked
dehydrated, his body harness looked like it was imbedded under the top of his legs.

I immediately took him to the animal hospital where the vet discovered his step in harness was imbedded into his skin causing lacerations under his front arms and it went down under his chest.

Animal Control and the police came to the vet to take reports and the owner received 4 citations from Animal Control and the police said this was a criminal investigation so I am to have no contact with the owners. Within 24 hours I  received a subpoena from Animal Control to be a witness of what happened to Shadow.

I contacted Milo's Dog Rescue in Pompano Beach Florida and sent her pictures and told her what happened and I needed help and she guided me throughout this whole journey.  We were able to give the vet authorization to do the surgery the following afternoon after I signed over the authorization letter that I would pay for the surgery and whatever else this poor little baby needed.

The owner of Shadow found out where he was and called the vet the following morning, she did not identify herself and blocked her number but asked if they had her dog.  They asked her to identify the dog and she said a black chihuahua named Shadow and they said yes and they did not give her any information due to the cruelty of this animal and told her that they could only talk to me since I brought in the dog.  The owner never made any effort to contact the vet again nor did she come and visit.

Milo's Dog Rescue (www.milosdogrescue.com) which you can see the pictures of him on her website, offered the pay the bill of $1,011.18 (I was in shock).  After many lengthly conversations I finally agreed to let  her to pay but I feel I need to help her.  When I asked her to post the pictures on her website she said she had to wait for her friend to put it up on the site because she did not have a computer,  scanner or printer.    It's obvious where she spends her money that gets donated.  Every dollar is put towards helping animals that come to her for surgery, medicine or whatever is needed.

Finally after 31 days and talking to the police officer in charge of the case he checked into the law and said if an animal is not claimed within a certain amount of time the animal is not considered their property.  However, there was no surrender form signed (the owner backed out at the last minute and said she wanted to talk to her lawyer first).  The dog was in my name so there was no letter mailed to her so considering the amount of time he was there..it was time to leave.

I brought him home to my house for a day and on Saturday night I brought him to Stacy at Milo's Dog Rescue.  He was there for 3 hours and due to the amount of animals she had there, he was too aggressive and stressed so I had to come and get him at 11:30pm.
I have had him now for over a week and he has a lot of issues, needs training, gets aggressive.  Not sure what his life has been like but it is so sad to see such a small animal so aggressive but at the same time wants love and attention but then... wants to bite you if you make the wrong move.

We have been blessed because I received a phone call on 10/27/17 from a wonderful lady  that saw our posts and wanted to meet Shadow.  She has been looking for a special needs dog and thought he might be the one.

We met  (10-28-17), it went great.  She is wonderful and her dog Wanda liked Shadow...well kinda.  She works at at Pet Resort Day Care and will be able to bring him to work and spend the time giving him the tender love and care he deserves.

Before he goes to his new home we have to get Shadow fixed, rabies shots and microchipped.  Not sure how much this will be but again..Milo's Dog Rescue has stepped up and said she would pay for it.

I am starting this Go Fund Me page in hopes to raise money to help repay Milo's Dog Rescue back for all the money she has put out to help Shadow and possibly have extra for training to help with his aggression and fear.   My daughter (10 years old) was with me when we found Shadow and would love for her to present a check to Milo's Dog Rescue to give thanks for all she has done to save Shadow from the cruelty he has been through.

We would be so grateful if you can find it in your hearts to donate...any amount would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance for your donation and kindness.

love and grace
