Hurricane Maria has left Puerto Rico in a crisis. With no water, power and limited communications, the situation is dire.
This is my closest family in Puerto Rico. Uncle Jorge, Aunt Mara, Cousin Mariette and her two boys and of course the family matriarch - my 94 year old grandmother, Antonia.
We just found out that they are alive and ok for now. My family is working on getting them here on the mainland as soon as possible. Once they are here, they are starting from scratch. They will have to leave everything behind.
Many of you have reached out to me asking for a way to help. This page is to create a fund for them to begin to rebuild their lives.
Costs:
We estimate airline tickets to be approximately $5000
The rest will go to clothing, food and possible first month's rent for my cousin Mariette and her two children at some point.
