Ashlee's Stem Cell Transplant Fund

Donation protected

Welcome everyone and thank you for your support, love and prayers for Ashlee Inglesby.  She was recently diagnosed with Severe Aplastic Anemia (SAA), a very rare blood disorder affecting no more than a few hundred people every year. The cause of SAA is unknown, but she is getting fantastic care at Stanford Medical Center.

Ashlee is tentatively scheduled to begin treatment the first week of December. The treatment is intensive and time-consuming. First, Ashlee will be quarantined at Stanford and receive chemotherapy to deplete her remaining bone marrow. Then, she will begin a bone marrow transplant process to rebuild her bone marrow with healthy stem cells. This will take several weeks, after which she will live at Stanford for several months while they keep a close watch on her to make sure her body has accepted the donor cells and is working to repair itself.

This has been a trying time for Ashlee herself, and for her family, most of all her husband, David.  David has been her best friend and partner for over 15 years, living life's many adventures together, travelling, exploring, and sharing a love of photographing new, exciting, and far off places.  He has been right by her side, and they will face this struggle together and persevere.

The treatment portion of Ashlee's recovery will take several months, during which David has commited to be by her side, aiding in her care and support. Even after treatment, the recovery process can take a year, with strict limitations on her living situation, activities, and ability to do many things we take for granted every day.

This has already, and will only continue, to place Ashlee and David under immense emotional and financial strain. They are fortunate to have wonderful medical coverage provided by David’s job at UC Davis. However, it will not cover all of their medical costs, nor their costs of living, as Ashlee is unable to work and David will only be able to work minimally during his care for Ashlee.

We are asking for any donation, large or small, to help this beautiful couple out in their time of need, to ensure Ashlee gets the best possible care, and to support them in taking care of their medical bills, their day to day needs, and to remove the giant financial burden from their already overloaded shoulders.

Our Ashlee is a fighter and she will see her way through this as she always does, with quiet determination and a smile. She is a wonderfully sweet, young, and caring woman who's passion for photography, exploration, and adventure can inspire us all.

We are commited to lightening their burdens in any way we can, and we ask you to do even just a little of the same. We will be eternally grateful, and we know Ashlee and David will be even more so.

Thank you,
Sean Inglesby and Katrina (soon to be) Inglesby
