Please join me, Senator Rich Alloway, in raising funds for the Franklin County Public Safety Training Center (FCPSTC). The FCPTSC provides new and veteran firefighters with on-going training to enhance their ability to respond to emergency situations.
Fundraising is underway to purchase a Forcible Entry Training Door System as well as a Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus Compressor and Cascade Fill Station. The equipment will provide additional training opportunities and safety mechanisms for first responders.
The “Challenger” Forcible Entry Training Door System" allows personnel to practice 10 of the most common, but rarely mastered forcible entry techniques in a firefighters arsenal. Not only can one force inward and outward doors found on residential and commercial buildings, but power saws and hydraulic tools can be utilized to gain entry through more secured mechanisms. The device is completely mobile (without any disassembly) and can be utilized in conjunction with the FCPSTC’s on-site structural burn building.
The new Bauer compressor and cascade fill station will be utilized on-site to fill firefighters Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBAs), more commonly referred to as air packs. Currently, the industry is transitioning to higher PSI cylinders allowing firefighters to safely operate in dangerous atmospheres longer with increased ergonomic designs. The new Bauer compressor and cascade fill station will accommodate these industry advancements, which several Franklin Co. fire departments have already purchased.
