My name is Briana Beaver, and I'm taking back my life!

I have been overcoming extreme and extraordinary obstacles since my birth. An hour after I was born, I died. I was resuscitated, but the event left me with permanent brain damage, resulting in Cerebral Palsy. When I was 9 years old, I mysteriously started to experience health problems that included gastrointestinal, pulmonary, metabolic, and neurological symptoms.

But I never let this stop me. I pursued my passions, and did my best to live a normal life. I graduated high school in 3 years, and in 2011 I graduated from Chico State, Summa Cum Laude, with a degree in Sociology. It was then that my health became even worse.

The pain became horrifically intense. I had extreme sensory overload, so that every stimulus - sight, sound, and smell - everything caused pain. I was so mysteriously debilitated that I was unable to eat or drink. By summer 2012 I was in Stanford Hospital, wasted away to 75 lbs. The pain was so torturous that I welcomed the thought of death.

In December of 2014, my medical mystery was finally given a name: Lyme Disease. Since then, I have undergone an extremely expensive battery of treatments, none of which are covered by insurance. I have improved, but I’m still incredibly medically fragile. I’m currently unable to read for more than 10 minutes at a time, and can’t use a computer or TV for any length at all. I had to dictate this message because I’m unable to write it myself. However, I desperately needed to share how deeply I’m committed to moving forward. It’s time for me to FINALLY take back my life!

My family is organizing the Take Back My Life campaign to help pay for the extremely expensive treatments Briana direly needs, but isn’t covered by insurance.

Whew! The last two weeks have been a whirlwind. I was thrown a curve ball with the recent diagnosis of Hydatic cyst disease. Aggressive, timely treatment for this is imperative and after encountering some difficulties with my insurance, I was able to begin treatment one week ago. There are many changes going on with my protocols and medical care at this time. If you are in a position to contribute, your support would be wonderfully appreciated. I'm grateful to have discovered this piece of my health puzzle and am fortifying myself with beautiful dreams of a healthy future to help me get through the next round of treatment. Thank you for dreaming with me. ❤️Briana

Hi friends! After a year of treatment for various infections, viruses and other microbes compromising the function of my digestion, it's time for some testing to see how far we've come and what we still have left to conquer. I am excited for some factual data about the state of gut! The comprehensive test is $200. If you are able to make a contribution to facilitate the gathering of this important information, that would be amazing! Thank you all so much for being such incredible supporters!!

Raise your hand if chronic pain is controlling your life! I just concluded and appointment with my neurologist, which went very well. He believe my overactive NMDA receptors are responsible for my neuropathy as well as other debilitating symptoms including multiple chemical sensitivity, environmental illness, EMF intolerance an other MCAD-Like responses. Fortunately, there are two medications proven to help properly regulate NMDA receptors and the nervous system. It is likely that with these medications, my quality of life will improve significantly and I will no longer be homebound for the most part! The prospect of significant pain reduction, improved sleep and decreased sensitivity to the planet could be a game changer for me! Unfortunately, both of the medications are not covered by insurance and are quite pricey. If you would like to make a gift of any size to help pay for them, that would be phenomenal. Thank you for all you do to keep me keeping on!

My quest to find a refreshing, intelligent, generous, compassionate and hilarious partner continues into 2019. Throughout 2018, I thought seriously about what I'm looking for in a man, reassessed my beliefs love and worthiness and took some pretty scary risks. Although I haven't found him yet, I did find out that I deserve a partner with incredible integrity, a proactive nature and passion for something that warms his soul. The problem, however, continues to be in that my unique circumstances preclude me from dating in any traditional way. How will he find me when he doesn't know I'm alive? That's where you come in! I've been researching about dating and your friends and acquaintances can be a game changer. So, if you know somebody who sparkles, doesn't scare easily, has a strong moral compass and just might be a fabulous addition to my life, I would absolutely love if you would let me know! If there are any adventures I can assist you with this year, I would love to help you as well! Happy 2019!
