URGENT Rescue The Underdog Pups

$16,076 of $22,000 goal

Raised by 204 people in 19 months
UPDATE: This group is like no other.
We truly save the last ones standing.
The ones on death row.
Its their 11th hour.
We are their absolute LAST shot at life. And
Duke is a perfect example of a true underdog rescue. Duke was brought to the shelter in very poor condition. Emaciated, scared and in terrible pain due to a fractured pelvic bone. Very quickly Duke found himself at the top of the list to be euthanized. Sadly no one wanted to take on the responsibility of this broken little guy until Rescue The Underdog stepped up. The group pulled his card and swooped him up in just the nick of time and has, without a doubt, saved his life!! After a thorough vet exam Duke was put on a high level of bed or kennel-rest. The vet says Duke needs a lot of rest and to put on a good amount of weight in order to heal before another exam and/or a potential surgery.
Today Duke is resting comfortably in his foster home. He’s slowly putting on weight and showing signs of who he truly is and that is a happy-go-lucky little dog. He is full of life if you can believe it! Without a doubt this guy had a family one time. He more than likely had some kids too. He loves everyone he meets, other dogs and cats too! Duke has such a bright future and will be extremely adoptable once he is fully heeled.
It’s the Dukes in the world and all the underdogs who drive our group to want to help. The smallest donation, the change at the bottom of your purse or even setting up the cutest lemonade stand to help raise money for these underdogs, is what helps us do what NEEDS to be done to save these dogs.
Can you help Duke and his fellow underdogs?

ORIGINAL STORY: Here is the story of Jimmy! Jimmy is a chihuahua mix that was dropped off at the shelter by his «family» to be put to death. The reason? At 11yrs old, Jimmy was too old for them, they wanted a new puppy. When the shelter refused, they just left him there. It turns out, on top of a broken heart, Jimmy also has a broken leg that was never taken care of. The vet says the poor baby was probably left with it unattended for over a year. This leg now needs to be amputated :-( Rescue the Underdog is desperately trying to save Jimmy. We already found him a great foster home but now we need funds for his surgery. He won’t survive without it. He’s such a gentle soul, loving and trusting... He needs our help! Jimmy is unfortunately far from being the only pup Curt and Rescue The Underdog is trying to save. There is Cowboy and his broken spine, Casper and his bad nerve damage, poor traumatized Rosa,.... All due to the cruelty of humans. We hate having to beg for money but without it all of our efforts are useless. Will you be able to help? We are counting on you! If you can’t donate, you can still help: Spread the word, Share our campaign, like our page on Facebook and share our posts with your friends... We are so grateful! Thank you Charlotte.

Just a quick message to thank everyone who donated towards the care of our Underdogs. Lexi is doing great and while we are still actively raising funds for Duke’s surgery and some other time sensitive vet needs, we are extremely grateful for the support we are receiving. We currently have over 40 dogs in our foster program and each one of them benefit from your generosity at some point. Wether it is basic vaccination, spay and neuter surgery, much needed dental or more complicated issues, we try our very best to give the dogs we rescue from euthanasia the care they need and deserve. Since we do not discriminate, our rescue often ends up rescuing the dogs that are in the most dire need of medical attention, This is why your generosity is essential to our daily work. Again, THANK YOU!

Here we are again, begging for help... I do wish there was another way to get it done but unfortunately I think this is the only way. I personally feel a little uneasy asking the same pool of generous supporters so please please please share our plea with friends and family so our small rescue can expand its reach.
