Fund puppy's broken elbow surgery
Donation protected
Hi, this is Bear. He is a 10 week old Belgian Malinois and Dutch Shepherd cross. This week he broke his elbow in a very bad way by jumping from a rooftop patio about 15 feet high onto concrete. He needs surgery and the specialist says he will have a full recovery so he can live a happy active life on all fours. He is scheduled for surgery at the Toronto Veterinary Emergency Hospital. The total cost of the surgery itself is going to be between $3320 and $4281. There will be additional follow up costs for x-rays of about $500.
Bear is from a working line of dogs and was about to start professional training to eventually be a scent detection dog, specializing in narcotics and explosives. This breed loves to work, for them it's play. I want the best quality of life for Bear. I couldn't imagine amputating his leg, even tho the first vet who did the x-rays said it was an option, turns out the cost was almost as expensive as the surgery which repairs the fractures with screws and a plate.
Please donate if you can, no amount is too little, and share this campaign with friends. Bear and I would be forever grateful. Those that know me, know that I am a house painter, leather crafter and photographer. For donations of $20 or more I would like to send a leather bracelet or keychain that I make, for larger donations I could arrange a portrait session in the new year. (Have to figure out logistics)
I will devote time to help Bear make a full recovery including some Physio post surgery. There's nothing I want more than for Bear to be running around happily and training hard so that one day he can make a positive contribution to our society. He has been so brave and strong through this ordeal. He is a very special little pup. Please share and donate any amout if you can.
Thank you so very much!
