PULL TOGETHER FOR PADDY OUR CHAMP!
I would like to ask each and every one of you to help Paddy and his family. Paddy needs no introduction, but I can honestly say he's the most respected man inside and out of the jockeys room, a champion on & off a horse! Paddy had a horrific fall while racing last Saturday and suffered severe trauma to his head and also fractured his C7. After vital surgery to relieve swelling to his brain the early signs seem hopeful, but Paddy is far from out of the woods yet. We hope and pray he will eventually make a full recovery, however that recovery will be a long and lengthy process. Our sport is so cruel sometimes, but now is the time when we should all pull together to help one of our own. Along with colossal medical expenses Paddy has three great kids to support and his adoring wife Lesley so please now everyone do what you can for Paddy in his time of need. Keep those prayers coming too. May god bless him and may the road to recovery rise to meet him!+ Read More
Its been over a year since Paddys accident. Hes come a long way and still has a ways to go. Baby steps....we are hoping to work out a stay at Oaksey House in England which only works with injured jockeys. We have amazing doctors and medicine in America but it seems we spend more time fighting insurance companies then doing whats best for Paddy at the doctors requests. So fingers crossed we get sorted soon and make another trip abroad on the road to his recovery.
Well we are at 10 months since Paddys accident. Hes come a long way. Physically he is very good. He struggles with emotions, frustration and anger. He wants to be back in charge. Always one step ahead. He still jas OT and speech therapy twice a week.
Paddy and our family really want to say Thank you to each and everyone one of you. We NEVER would have made it this far with out your generious donations. It took a huge weight off our shoulders. I never would have been able to keep the show on the road, keep our business going, take care of the kids and tend to Paddys needs with out it. Paddy has progressed so well. Doctor are so pleased. He has finished his physical therapy and will continue with speech therapy. He did so well he made it back to Ireland to visit with family over the holidays. Again thank you from the bottom of our hearts!
