Publish a new book- Captain of life
Your contribution will support organisation working to support Cambodian high schools working with women and girls. I believe that providing and reading inspiring books, people are helped to stand up and be more confident to enjoy a more independent life and pursue their goals and dreams.
I am a young writer and author of several books for children and young adults. I have spoken about my work and my inspirations at schools, organisations and the international community across Cambodia following the publishing of my autobiography “A Proper Woman.”
With my latest book, which I plan to release in November, I have combined real life stories of women I know into a semi-autobiographical Khmer language novel I will title “A Captain of Life.” Click here to see a sample book cover.
We will give away over 2,000 copies of the new book to 50 or more organisations/rural high school and groups where we know we will make the greatest impact. (We have received some funding to produced 2,000 copies, so on gofundme, we hope to print at least 500 more copies. )

Book summary:
This is about the journey of a young Cambodian girl, like so many young girls in Cambodia, born and raised in the countryside. She always had dreams of a different life, and those dreams inspired her to push beyond any difficulties in her life.
She did not have a warm and happy family. She faced discrimination, criticism, domestic violence, depression, and a broken heart from her first love. Such challenges lead to ask herself the question, "What did I do to deserve all this, just being born as a girl?"
The book seeks to show how the experiences in life, both good and bad, shape who we become as people. It is how we react to these challenges that determines who we become. The dark sky will soon return to the blue sky, the big storm soon to be over, but in the end you are still the captain of your own life.
