In January 2014, Frank Geegan, was diagnosed with stage 4 melanoma. Over the next few months he went through 10 surgeries, which the doctors thought would get everything. But the melanoma mutated and lager tumors started forming on the right side of his head. In December he joined a clinical trial, which seemed to be working, but with more tests, results showed it wasn't. The next step was intensive bio-chemotherapy. On August 5, 2015, he was admitted to the hospital for this treatment, which is extremely painful. He was released after one week, to just be admitted into the ICU two days later for breathing problems. Do to swelling of his neck and head, his eyes were swollen shut and cutting off airflow.

A tracheotomy was done and stomach tube was added so he could continue treatments without the worry of fully cutting off his air supply. This caused him to not be able to talk. The tumor on the outside was shrinking, causing open neck wounds that needed cleaning and constant dressings. He stayed in the hospital for another month, before being able to be released. At this time, equipment was brought to his house, so his wife, Cheryl could take care of him. He started walking again and communicating with a white board and hand signals. Things were finally looking up. Then on October 7, Frank started having seizers and was rushed to the ER. After sedation, the doctors were able to do an MRI, which found 3 tumors in his brain. The doctors don't have any other treatments and have given him less than 6 months. Cheryl has decided that she wants him home and will take care of him for this final days, vs going to hospice and being alone.

Frank has been a union pipe fitter for the past 40 years and worked up until August 2015 when going in for chemotherapy. Some days were painful but he kept going to work everyday. Since August, the family hasn't been getting any income. There are medical bills and the mortgage to pay. Many of you know the government is slow and they still haven't approved Frank for disability.

These funds are to help Frank and Cheryl pay bills during the last days of his life. Any and all help is greatly appreciated. Thank you.
