PR's 1st Autonomous Vehicle (STEM)
This summer, fifteen students from our team will be representing Puerto Rico in one of the most prestigious engineering competitions which will take place at San Diego, California. Robosub - http://www.robonation.org/ competition/robosub.
We wish to ask you to help this excellent team of future engineers composed of the top students of our University, to represent PR and most possibly win this competition. Our autonomous vehicle is in its last stages of testing and we are in the process of buying airplane tickets and lodging for the students that will go to compete.
The UPRM Rumarino Team, founded in 2014, is committed to build an Autonomous Underwater Vehicle (AUV), which will represent the University of Puerto Rico, and Puerto Rico in the International RoboSub Competition. Team Rumarino is an interdisciplinary project that provides students with the unique opportunity to work in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM). We count with 32 members ranging across different field of study. From engineering fields, such as Mechanical, Electrical, Computer, and Industrial to business fields, such as Marketing and Human Relations. All with the conviction and determination to build an AUV.
This projects helps students develop even further than in their regular classes, by taking all the theoretical knowledge and putting it to practice. It also helps the students prepare themselves for the future and be ready for a technology world that is moving towards autonomous vehicles. Team RUMarino is also a pioneer platform for technical development, where students with burning desire and eagerness to learn, can take their technical career to the next level.
