Puerto Rico Hurricane Maria Relief
Help support those affected by hurricane Maria. As a city of good neighbors this hits home for many of us with friends and family living in the disaster path of this unfortunate natural disaster. These people will need money, food, water, shelter, and basic necessities. This hurricane has destroyed entire neighborhoods and everything they have worked their entire lives for. Still without power and with infrastructure that is unstable it is imperative we send help urgently for restoration of life saving services and necessities. The monies donated will go to directly into the hands of those affected directly. As seen on local news outlets this is a legitimate fundraising effort, once available we will be streaming these efforts live. FEMA has only 56 contractors to clear trees and repair power lines and there are 78 municipalities of which 54 have already been declared federal disaster zones. Please consider making any donation you can afford to help our friends and families.
island since 1928, made direct impact across the entire Island of Puerto Rico causing massive devastation. It left
100% of the island without electricity and knocked down cell towers, stopping all communications. With an
already massive economic crisis, the storm has left Puerto Rico completely paralyzed and its residents extremely
vulnerable. Many had gone days without water before this storm due to the impact of Hurricane Irma. With
Buffalo having one of the largest Puerto Rican communities outside the island, it has personally affected many of
our residents, who have struggled through hours, and now days, of not knowing if their loved ones are safe.
Western New York Latino Leaders and their partners have established The Puerto Rico Hurricane Maria Relief
Fund to help provide both immediate and on-going support to the residents of Puerto Rico. To aid in our efforts
we need an array of resources and support from our community. Please see below for ways YOU can help:
