Sabu's Hip Surgery
Sabu was trained by his uncle, legendary WWE Hall of Famer The Sheik. He has wrestled across the world and for WWE, WCW, and TNA, including but is primarily known for his iconic work while a part of the Extreme Championship Wrestling (ECW) roster. Sabu’s innovative hardcore style was particularly debilitating, but he never once let that stop him from giving his all in the ring to entertain his fans. Now he needs you, the very same fans, to return the favor.
Your donations will be used for Sabu to get his surgery, which includes the following:
- Pre-operational procedures
- The surgery itself
- Post-operation requirements, including physical therapy.
Thousands of dollars have already been spent on getting consultations, X-rays, injections, and other medical necessities to help with his hip without surgery.
Once all medical procedures have been completed, Sabu will attempt to return to the ring. However, until this return, his earnings will cease due to being unable to complete as he has become accustomed to. Therefore, without his loyal fans, he may not be able to continue his legendary career.
Sabu thanks you for your attention and response. This thanks will come in the form of the legendary wrestler continuing to expertly entertain every fan that comes to see him perform.
Sabu has also been pretty quiet about his gofundme. He's a very proud man, and deservedly so, but its really hard for him to ask for help of any kind. So to those fans who have heard of his current situation, and have donated or shared, THANK YOU!!!! I've been doing my best to get word out, as has RVD, but its been a little hard. Obviously Sabu's got the name recognition in pro wrestling to get a lot of people to read what he writes or tune in to listen to what he has to say; my own public reach is mostly fitness (I've been a top ten in the world professional physique champion, and been in and on the covers of Muscle&Fitness, Flex, Musclemag and the other fitness magazines), but my personal exploits in pro wrestling weren't near as far reaching (I trained at developmental and did the PPV Backlash in 2005, I was the girl who took "the Masterlock Challenge, FYI), so its very important for those of us who care about Sabu to get word out for him.
Thankfully the donations were enough to get the surgery done, but we still have the hospital bill to attend to, and want to get those cleared out of the way as soon as possible. So please share this gofundme anywhere you know there are Sabu fans. He's busted his ass literally for 30 plus years in the ring (and his right shoulder too!) for us in the ring, and needs a little help getting put back together so he can continue to feel good and be healthy to stick around for another 30 plus years!
This weekend Sabu will be making one of his first appearances since his hip surgery at Wrestlecon in Orlando during WrestleMania weekend. I'll be with him too, of course. We are scheduled to be at the TitlematchWrestling booth from 9 am till noon on Friday March 31, and then on Saturday from noon to 3 pm. Besides having 8x10s and photo opps, we will also be bringing action figures, calendars, his own personally produced DVD SABU:HOMICIDAL BEGINNINGS (his 15 favorite matches, or matches he considers significant in his career), 3 of his shoot DVDs, his black barbed wire Tshirt and matching caps, and his Sabu Spike souvenir item, maybe even a souvenir piece of table. We also do mail order - you can email me at firstname.lastname@example.org for a full list of items and prices.
Hope to see you in Orlando!
Please share this gfm wherever wrestling fans go, and if you can contribute, please do. I'm doing my best to take care of him, and it makes him and I so happy when we see how much the fans care. Thank you so very much! I feel very proud that Sabu has relied on me to help him through this rough part of his life, and I feel very blessed to have so many thoughtful and kind Sabu fans be not only kind to him, but to me as well.
Hope to see you in Orlando!

thank you 1000x for every one's support. and your donations. Things are looking up ,,,Don't know when I will be back in the ring yet bc my leg still isn't strong ,,And my shoulder is pretty bad but I, we will be in Orlando for Wrestlecon WM weekend that's me and Super Genie Melissa Coates
Sabu is a bit restless, not being able to really push his workout in the gym, and for sure knowing he cant get back in the ring yet. But he knows he has to just be patient and wait to heal up properly.
We have some autograph signings planned in the meantime, and some promoters have offered to do tribute shows to help get the money together to pay off his medical bills. Sabu has been pretty modest about doing any tribute shows, but is very flattered by those who have offered to do them. He prefers to wrestle or work for his money, but he knows with how big the medical bills are, that raising the kind of money he needs to pay them just isn't realistic without some fan support. He may still plan to go ahead with a tribute show or two. We will post any of that info when something is confirmed.
In the meantime, thanks again to everyone who has contributed to his gfm. There still a lot left to handle, but we know things would be a bit slow with the campaign during the time from Thanksgiving to the Holidays. We are hoping that the campaign can really do well in January, so he can have most bills finally paid.
So its been a busy month for Sabu to heal up his left hip....lots of rest and lots of ice cream (milkshakes with protein powder added of course) seem to be the cure for what ails him LOL.
He just wrote a personal update on the page. I know it's been awhile since he and I have been on here. The pain from the bone on bone issue with his hip was gone after his surgery was done, but then came in the pain from the surgery itself, and from having a huge titanium rod hammered into his femur. According to his doctor, with a "really big hammer" lol.
I took some photos of Sabu's month -follow- up visit to the doctor, so you can see his actual reconstructed hip.
I wrote also to Melissa Facebook , but the Japanese wrestler Mr. pogo that received in the same manner as in hip surgery and Sabu also we have the cooperation to call for assistance . He was also asked to request the cooperation of Japan and the United States of friends . https://m.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100002499097561
Sabu has been my favourite wrester... no wait... my favourite person for many years now since i used to watch ECW back in it's glory days. Any time i see Sabu in the ring he gives 110% and puts on an explosive and unpredictable show. When i see him in interviews he always drives one point home that really makes me think. Sabu talks about never letting other people or companies change you and to always make your own path instead of following others. I was watching the ECW episode where the dudleys left for the WWF and the entire crowd are chanting SABU SABU SABU!and you weren't even in the building :P Then i heard about your hip and i was so sad. I never got a chance to see you perform live or meet you at any events. I will be donating this week when i get paid because in a years time i want to be able to buy my tickets, grab my friends and show them what Sabu is all about. It would be great to meet you and Melissa in the future. I wish you the best of luck, Love you brother.
I've gotten to meet Sabu twice. I'll try to donate whatever I can. I'd love for him to come to Indiana again! for his age the man still puts on an amazing show!
